Celebrate Learning!
Kid POV:
I can play and build with my friends.
Teacher POV:
?I see a child using fine motor skills to create a symmetrical design, using engineering skills while learning to communicate with a teammate during our creative play time.

Third grade art is creating their own comic books! We created a rough draft storyboard then started work on our background design. It was so fun to use bubble wrap to paint a characteristic comic book pattern on our posters. Look for the finished project at our Festival of Fine Arts in April!
Miss Moog
After studying Confucius and Confucian proverbs, students wrote one of their own:
Olivia Pacheco – “Friends are like flowers, they’re different in many ways, but pretty together.”
Nicholas White – “Whenever you speak, speak wisely.”
Savanna Wall – “Don’t judge yourself about what you can’t control.”
Andrew Goodson – “Live in the fear of the Lord, not the fear of man.”
Christian Sarmiento – “Always think before you do something.”
Stephen Driggers – “Don’t go alone for the journey for it will be like salt without taste.”

Students ran 84 mini-reactions in lab this week! Now they just have to figure out how to write the equations to match what they saw and make conclusions about reaction trends. We've got a lot of learning to do, but we are having a lot of fun in the process!
Mrs. Seganish
RCS & Christian Ministry alumnus Andrew Saake joined our class this week to share his experience from the class and Navajo trip with our current team. It was a great time to reconnect with Andrew and for our kids to hear about a recent trip from an alumni!

Congratulations to our Athlete of the Week:
?Craig Yanagihara, Varsity Baseball
From Coach Saake:
Craig pitched a shut-out, complete game against our arch-rival, St. Joseph Notre Dame. Craig was dominate on the mound, striking out 10, and only allowed three hits and one walk. In addition, he went 2-3 at the plate, including a triple, and had one RBI and one run scored.
